There were 3 singles and a treble with the 3 singles put together in Thursday’s email. The treble had odds of 35.67 so it’s fair to expect a less than 2% chance of that winning. However even the shortest odds bet of 2.2 didn’t win, let alone the other bets.
If you look at the matches in a little more detail than the black and white results (as I always do to try and determine some form of value behind the tips), the picture is a little different.
Flamengo had the better of their game with 8 goal attempts to Gremio’s 1, 6 more corners and the lion’s share of the possession.
Shamrock Rovers also had a good run and a fine performance from Graham Burke meant that the match was closer than the bookies expected it to be, the ‘draw no bet’ clause nearly coming into action. Cork City on the other hand had a dreadful first half and deserved to be losing but fought back well in the second half.
I believe the bets could have easily gone the other way and I do think that there was some value in the tips. I’m looking forward to see how they fare in the future but for now, the banks are down by roughly 20% and 10%.
