Golf Bet Profits – Week 1 – Amendment
17 January
Having consulted with the author over the results from the weekend’s golf tournaments, it seems that one of the results I interpreted as a five-point each-way bet was actually a 0.5-point investment.
This is the actual copy on the email from the author(I have made it red):
Golf Bet Profits Seelections
European Tour
The Joburg Open
A weak field presents an opportunity for a strong Win Bet and an each way bet on a live contender !
3 Points Win Charles Schwartzel 4/1 Widely available
Could well outclass this field on a course he loves.
1 EW Danny Willet 1/4 odds 5 places 18/1 BET365
This is going to be Willets breakthrough year.He is the most aggressive golfer on tour and that will help him this week.
US tour
THE SONY OPEN
The first Tournament of the season and I expect some outsiders to do very well this week !
1 EW Jonathan Byrd 1/4 odds 5 places 40/1 PADDY POWER
Ultra consistent and putting very well which will be massively important this week.
1 EW Robert Garragus 1/4 odds 5 places 66/1 PADDY POWER
Placed last week he tends to play well in clusters and will be very confident this week .This price is all wrong for a player in form suited to the conditions.
.5 EW Stuart Appleby 1/4 odds 5 places 100/1 STAN JAMES
Multiple winner in Hawai and successful in Australia over the Winter he will be better for playing this week and will always be a danger at this type of course .100/1 we will have some of that.
I hope you will agree that .5 is far more difficult to read than 0.5, but I do apologise for this error, for which I take full responsibility.
This throws a completely different light on the profit/loss figures, which I have amended below.
European Tour
Joburg Open Bet Stake Odds Result P/L
Charl Schwartzel Win 3pts 4/1 Won +12
Danny Willet EW 1pt 18/1 Lost -2
US Tour
Sony Hawaii Open
Robert Garragus EW 1pt 16/1 Lost -2
Jonathan Byrd EW 1pt 10/1 Lost -2
Stuart Appleby EW 0.5pts 25/1 Lost -1
Week 1 profit/loss = +5 points
Running Bank after Week 1 = 205 points (plus 5 points)
Best Regards
