Golf Bet Profits – Week 11
28 March
This week the Golf Bet Profits service was involved in two tournaments – the Open de Andalucia de Golf at the Parador de Málaga Golf in Spain and the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Florida. There were two players involved in each, three of the four being eliminated following the second rounds – Simon Dyson tied on 124th and Ignacio Garrido tying on 133rd in Spain, with Dustin Johnson tying on 89th in Florida. None of these players made a par score in their two rounds.
Our hopes for success, therefore, were pinned firmly on Ricki Fowler in the Arnold Palmer and he started well with a three under par 69 in the first round, tying with Hunter Mahan behind leader Spencer Levin who was six under.
Fowler was still in touch after the second, tying in eighth place on four under, followed by a two under par third round, now lying in fifth place six under par. He maintained this until the seventh hole in the last round, making a bogey followed by a double bogey on the eighth. This loss of four shots put him out of the places and, apart from birdies at the 11th, 16th and 17th, suffered another two double bogies on the 14th and last hole to put him down to level par and a finishing position of joint 30th.
This is the second week in succession where players have promised much then faltered in their last rounds to leave us in a minus situation. It is very frustrating.
