Sgt Mick Review

Corazon Espinado
won nicely. He’s just a better horse than this grade and Marquand made it simple leading from start to finish.Tips for Thursday 25th January, 2018
3.05 Meydan – Rembrandt Van Rijn 13-2 widely available0.5pts E/W Fin Unp -£10
I am very keen on the outside chances of Rembrandt Van Rijn in here. He caught my eye last time out when his race was destroyed by a serious amount of trouble in running. He ran on strongly late in the day when he had no right too considering all the trouble earlier and that means we can upgrade his performance substantially. I was watching closely that day because not only is he a horse who gave us great success when trained in Britain but also because his trainer has openly admitted that in his homework Rembrandt is a new horse this year compared to last. He finished 3rd in this last year beaten just 1l and with that promise from last time coined with his trainer’s comments I am confident he will run a big race in here at lenient odds. This step back up in trip is in his favour and with that run under his belt he should find more improvement.
Chelmsford – Reckless Endeavour 9-2 widely available
Things didn’t go to plan for Reckless Endeavour last time out but there were viable excuses for his below par performance. Slow away, wide into the straight and then he couldn’t find a rhythm until late on. I get the impression Lingfield’s turns are a little tight for him, he has great form around Dundalk and as a track Chelmsford is very similar, so it should in theory suit much better. He has stall 4 so is obviously well berthed and with pace setters Zac Brown and Sign of The Kodiac in here it should be run ideally to suit.
8.00 Chelmsford – Beepeecee 15-2 widely available/Celtic Artisan 5-1 widely available
Both 0.5pts E/W Beepeecee Fin 3RD Return £12.50….. Celtic Artisan Fin Unp -£10
An interesting mile handicap. Beepeecee stands out to me, he should have won two starts back over 10f’s at Lingfield but he could never get a clear run down the straight. He then went to Wolverhampton over 7f’s and could never get into contention. 7f’s is too short for him however this mile trip around Chelmsford suits him well. He has ran over this C and D twice resulting in a win and a 4
th, the win was of 59 and the 4th was of 64, tomorrow he runs of 63 so is feasibly handicapped. He has improved in my opinion since then and from stall 1 tomorrow should get the perfect tow into this. He needs covering up for as long as possible but Shane Kelly knows him well and always seems to get a good tune out of him. Celtic Artisan is also worth keeping on side, he finished 2nd at Newcastle last time out and that was a return to form for this horse. He likes it over this C and D and if Beepeecee has trouble in running then he looks a viable alternative who shouldn’t have any luck in running issues. He is tactically versatile and Macdonald is in cracking form who keeps the ride. Stall 6 is fine and that should mean he is placed close to the pace.Starting Bank £100
