Golf Bet Profits – Week 12

No less than eight bets this week on tournaments in Europe and the USA. The Shell Houston Open, in Humble, Texas, was won by Phil Mickelson, with our three picks finishing no greater than joint 30th (Charl Schwartzel). The 72-hole match bet was won by J.J.Henry, who finished with a score of 280, tying at 19th in the tournament, beating Frederik Jacobsen who did not make the cut following the second round. So a small loss of 0.45 points on this competition.
On to the Trophée Hassan II at the Golf du Palais Royal and Golf de L’Océan courses in Agadir, Morocco. This tournament is played on two courses, the Ocean course for the first round and the Palais Royal course for the remaining three rounds. The main selection for this was José Manuel Lara, who did not make the cut for the third round and Simon Dyson, who had a good final round but could only finish 29th. In the 72-hole match bet Chris Wood was one up on Danny Willett after two rounds, was stricken with a tummy bug and completed his rounds two over par, with Willett having two good final rounds to finish eight under and win.
At the half-way stage of this tournament an additional bet was offered on David Horsey, who was tying at five under with four other players and behind Rhys Davies and Joost Luiten on six under. Seven players all with a chance, so it was a good call to get 14/1 on Horsey to finish in the top five. He did better than that and won the competition following a three-man play-off with Davies and Jaco Van Zyl, winning with a birdie on the second extra hole. This victory earned 35 points giving us a 25-point profit on the tournament and 24.55 points profit on the week.
This is much better.
