Lay Bet Dominator – Days 17 to 20
Sgt Colin reviews Lay Bet Dominator
10th October 2012
Hi, Sgt Colin here, with the updated results for Lay Bet Dominator.
The website suggests 3 potential staking plans;
a) fixed liabilities, whereby whatever the odds the liability remains the same on each bet in £ terms.
b) % liabilities, whereby the liability on each bet is a fixed % of the betting bank
c) fixed stakes, where the profit target for each bet remains the same in £ terms. Thus the higher the odds, the higher the liability.
Having made a dire start, could we continue to recover some of the bank?
Day 17 – 7th October. Just the one selection, and this also romped home at BSP odds of 2.87. This is getting serious now, with 10 losing bets out of 14 placed.
Day 18 – 8th October. 2 selections today, both of which qualified. The first one won its race, making 3 losers on the trot, but at least the 2nd selection only came in 3rd.
Day 19 – 9th October. Another 2 qualifying selections today (out of 4 selections). The first of these came 2nd at very short odds (1.47) making some good profits, but the second runner game some of the gains back, winning at 2.52.
Day 20 – 10th October. 2 possible selections, and one qualified, going off at Betfair SP odds of 1.73. Fortunately for us, it came in 4th.
So what has that done in terms of our banks? We started these days with banks of 68.2 points, 71.7 points and 63.3 points respectively.
Staking Plan a) Opening Bank 100, Staked 95 Loss 27.5 Closing bank 72.5 ROI -29.0%
Staking Plan b) Opening Bank 100, Staked 74.8 Loss 25.9 Closing bank 74.1 ROI -34.7%
Staking Plan c) Opening Bank 100, Staked 123.8 Loss 46.2 Closing bank 53.8 ROI -37.3%
The short priced losers were highly beneficial when betting with set liabilities, hence staking plans a & b gained over these 4 days. However, when looking at a target profit the impact was much less, and the 3 first placed horses outweighed the 3 winning selections.
