Odds On Ron – Days 28 & 29
3rd October 2012
Sgt Colin reviews Odds On Ron
Hi, Sgt Colin here, with the latest update on the performance of the Odds On Ron system.
I initially started with a bank of 100 points, staking 1 point per selection (using level stakes) and aiming to return c4 points per day (using the staking plan). After 27 days we were ahead by 32.5 points to level stakes, and 113.5 points using the advised staking plan. During September we had made 22.5 points using level stakes and 63.1 points using the staking plan,
Day 28 – 1st October
5 selections, and the first day for a while without a winner. Only 1 horse placed, so we lost 6.7 points to level stakes, 13.6 points using the staking plan.
Day 29 – 2nd October
2 selections today, and neither won, although the 2nd selection came in 2nd and virtually covered the losses on the win bet. 2.1 points lost to level stakes, 9.3 points using the staking plan.
The potential perils of loss recovery strategies become apparent when losing runs start stacking up as we were staking 6.7 points on the last race to win. Assuming we have a number of selections today I will be following the approach of limiting the staking levels so that they don’t escalate, therefore accepting some losses from our highpoint if the early selections don’t win.
Updated results:
Staking Plan: Initial bank 100 Total Staked 329.5 points Profit 90.6 points Closing Bank 190.6 ROI 38%
Level Stakes: Initial bank 100 Total staked 124 points Profit 23.7 points Closing Bank 123.7 ROI 25%
We have achieved a 20% hit rate on win bets (16 wins), and 52% of selections have placed.
