Hi Bloggers
Well, we had2 selections today and here is what was advised:
Ascot 15:55 – Lady Eclair
Consistent filly from Mark Johnstone’s yard who is expected to go off short here in what looks a competitive Stayers Handicap. There are however, a few negatives that mean she is opposable. Yet to perform in this Class, her wins have all been in Class 3 or lower. Her only attempt at this level saw her finish out of the frame last time out. Hasn’t previously run at Ascot so course suitability is unknown. Official Rating is 93 which is 17lbs higher than 2 months ago (she has done whats been asked of her though) and she carries 10st today for the first time. Handicapper may now just have her measure. Trainer’s strike rate in these races here is low (to be fair that can also be said for the other Trainers in this race) and Anton Marcus rides for the first time. Favourites also have a low strike rate in 4YO+ handicaps at the track. Race looks competitive with several winners at this level. We therefore recommend lay subject to maximum odds of 5.5
Ayr 19:40 – Rascal In The Mix
Another competitive race where Selection is forecast favourite. However, there are a few negatives that mean she can be opposed. Untried at Ayr and her 2 wins have been on sharp tracks so course isn’t guaranteed to suit her. She seems to run better on Good to Firm going so todays Good ground may be a slight disadvantage to her. Whilst no rain is forecast in the area, it’s unlikely that the ground will dry sufficiently for the going to be amended. Trainers record at the track is below average and favourites have a low strike rate in Handicaps of this age group at the course. We recommend lay subject to maximum odds of 6.0
Both selections did the job for us and here are the details: Lady Eclair came in 4th out of the 10 runners at a Betfair SP of 5.68 (ISP 7/2). Rascal In The Mix came in 7th of the 11 runners at a Betfair SP of 7.89 (ISP 5/1). That gave us a profit for the day 0f £76.00 or 1.90 points at level stakes. Our cumulative bank now stands at £2,136.40 giving us a profit to date of £136.40 or 3.41 points at level stakes.
Kind regards
Tony
