EXPLANATION FROM THE SNOUT
No dice today as two runners were beaten and one was a non runner. Pearl Acclaim was sent on his way too quickly by Josh Doyle as he was claimed close home despite looking like he may have slipped the field. That was a frustration and then Yalta was a late non runner after being backed into 7/2. Evergate won that race which I mentioned in my write up yesterday was certainly a well handicapped horse, but I just cannot help but think that Yalta would have outclassed them. Montiverdi was hammered in the betting but Jamie Spencer deemed it a good idea to get him away from all other runners and utilise energy to go to the rail where no others were racing. An absolutely illogical piece of riding and I must say it is hard for me to still stand up for Spencer as I see him throw races away day after day.
On the back of today with clearly a huge amount of rain hitting the country over the past 24 hours and potentially into tomorrow I don’t want to waste risking banks on poor racing. Therefore there are no selections.
