I’ve never really got too excited about the first day of the Aintree festival as it always seems to have small fields and hot favourites in too many races. The Snout, however, isn’t put off by such things. He was spot on when he said in the email “I just could not have Cue Card at any price…” but sadly got on the wrong alternative in Empire of Dirt. Balnaslow’s second place in the 4.05 made a small return before Double W’s victory at 8/1 (12.06 Betfair) brought the review back to within half a point of profit:
