Pretty disappointing run from Landing Night considering the support (11-4 into 7-4). He hung down the straight and never looked comfortable, wouldn’t surprise me if they find a small problem with the horse. Royal Reserve was made a non runner. That’s racing we move on…

Karam Albaari is a very well handicapped horse at present and he returned after a short break with a much improved performance over this C and D last time out. That run will have blown away the cobwebs and we can expect him to improve on that effort here. Add in that the handicapper has dropped him another 2lb, Martin Harley takes over in the saddle and that he is drawn well in stall 2 all points towards big run from this horse. I also want Attain on side in here, he’s a consistent type who performed well last time out. That was his first start after a break so it is reasonable to assume he will improve for it. He will appreciate the extra yardage and Archie Watson is a fantastic trainer to have on side. Stall 8 gives Greatrex options, he can either sit in or go forward depending on the early pace and that could prove a very valuable asset in such a big field.

Deansgate was a shade disappointing last time out but he was ridden awfully by Joe Doyle and I am prepared to put a line through the run. He needs holding up and settling in behind horses, Joe Doyle has ridden him 12 times and yet has the horse prominent from the word go with no cover. I’m not surprised Camacho replaces him tomorrow with Mulrennan and from a handy middle draw Deansgate should have little issue finding all the cover he needs. He’s handicapped to go close and given a race run to suit he should be bang there at the finish.
