D G Tips Review Day 43
Sgt Mick Review
13th December 2017
Dear Member
Nice profitable day to start the week with Emenem winning alongside Roundabout Magic placing.
We also had Kyllachy Gala 2nd for the 1-2 with Emenem, not E/W unfortunately but still a big run from the horse and Shamshon 4th just nosed out of it (literally) for place money.
Busy day tomorrow with 3 AW meetings.
Tips for Wednesday 13th December, 2017
12.00 Lingfield – Maratha 13-2 widely available
0.5pts E/W Fin 3rd return £11.50
0.5pts E/W Fin 3rd return £11.50
Maratha looks worth keeping on side for the in-form William’s yard. He ran a nice race at Chelmsford last time out and the run can be upgraded a little as he was drawn very wide. He has tactical speed which will be a bonus from his low draw. He stays the trip well, is still lightly raced on the AW and has potential moving forward. From stall 3 Sean Levey should have every chance.
2.00 Lingfield – Alejandro 25-1 widely available/Shyron 12-1 widely available
Both 0.5pts E/W Alejandro unp -£10, Shyron won ( S.P. 5/1) return £82
Both 0.5pts E/W Alejandro unp -£10, Shyron won ( S.P. 5/1) return £82
I want two on side in here. Firstly Alejandro ran a nice race over this trip two starts back at Chelmsford, that was a strong race for the grade and he gave it a bold sight from the front. He was drawn in stall 10 that day and had to overcome the wide draw early which would have made an impact on his finishing kick. Down 1lb tomorrow and with the inside draw a massive help he could easily make all here if a few meet traffic problems.
One of those horses who will be coming from the back is the well handicapped Shyron, this horse has been unlucky this season being drawn 11, 12 and 12. Finally tomorrow he has a nice draw in stall 2, returns to his favoured C and D and has been dropped a massive 7lb since finishing 3rd over this C and D in a class 2 handicap. Tomorrow he tackles a class 3 handicap carrying bottom weight from stall 2, it all points to a big run.
2.15 Wolverhampton – Jack Blane 2-1 widely available
1pt win Won 9/4 Return £32.50
1pt win Won 9/4 Return £32.50
Jack Blane has caught my eye recently, he has been unlucky on his last few starts and given the way he has travelled recently this drop back in trip should be a positive. Stall 6 is a good draw over sprint trips at this track and it gives Makin options on board. As long as he breaks well and gets a good position then he will be finishing strongly.
2.30 Lingfield – Bayston Hill 9-2 widely available
0.5pts E/W Won 5/2 Return £35
0.5pts E/W Won 5/2 Return £35
Bayston Hill was only caught late on over this C and D last time out. He gave it a bold sight out front that day and from stall 14 it is clear his finishing kick was hampered a little. He has stall 4 tomorrow and they can ride a race run to suit. Left on the same mark with the talented Nicola Currie taking over negating an extra 7lb this horse should take all the beating.
6.40 Kempton – Azam 10-1 widely available
0.5pts E/W Fin Unp -£10
0.5pts E/W Fin Unp -£10
I am going chance Azam in here. This is a weird race really because there is a large amount of the field not proven over this trip. Azam is one of them but judged on his last run I get the impression it could bring about marked improvement. That was the first run in a while where he has shown some promise and if backing that up off a 1lb lower mark then he should run a nice race. Mick Appleby is a good trainer and I am hoping he has found the key to this horse now. Stall 5 is an added bonus.
7.10 Kempton – Enfolding 5-2 widely available/First Flight 8-1 widely available
1pt win Enfolding Enfolding 2nd 100/30 Return £8.30, First flight Unp -£10
1pt win Enfolding Enfolding 2nd 100/30 Return £8.30, First flight Unp -£10
0.5pts E/W First Flight
Enfolding returns from a long lay-off here and could easily be thrown in. James Fanshawe is a fantastic trainer and I don’t think he’d run one if it wasn’t ready (especially with the promise this one has shown). The form of his last win is very strong, he beat Peace and Plenty (giving 4lb) nearly 4l’s who is now rated 77 and he also beat Hertford Dancer who is now rated 105 (giving 2lb). That really makes his mark of 83 look lenient and he couldn’t really have been more impressive. He has the draw in stall 2 and also the booking of Adam Kirby looks significant on board.
First Flight also looks interesting in here, he is down to a nice mark and ran a really good race last time out at Wolverhampton. This represents a drop in grade and from stall 1 he looks to have a lot in his favour. McDonald keeps the ride which is a plus and as long as the gaps come then he should run a big race. Form was franked yesterday by Emenem.
Good Luck
