Two winners so far to end the month, I will be sending a month review out tomorrow.
Shamrokh won very nicely. Not a lot went right for him to be honest, he was slow away and the race was run at a very slow tempo but he won going away and had a lot more in hand than the winning margin suggests.
Oriental Lily won nicely, she was badly hampered so the run needs upgrading. Big Lachie was hampered a few times so is worth keeping on side.
One more to run at Newcastle so let’s hope for a big performance.
We start a new month tomorrow, February is always a solid month with the AW season heating up alongside some extra Meydan cards.
We have a Meydan card tomorrow but having gone through it I am going to take a watching brief tomorrow with nothing really standing out and instead just keep to the evening meeting at Kempton.

Very Honest should have won last time out but for a poor ride. She has been freshened up since and now comes here down 1lb in the handicap and also has the plum draw in stall 1. This horse can lead or be ridden just behind the pace so from that draw Shepherd can ride a race to suit. Pulsating is an obvious danger but she had no excuses last time out so I am willing to take her on tomorrow.
8.00 Kempton – Mr Bossy Boots 4-1 widely available

Mr Bossy Boots is worth keeping on side here. He has been running creditably in recent starts however he has the visor applied for the first time tomorrow and that could make the difference. In addition he has been dropped 1lb and also returns to his favoured trip of 7f’s. If the visor has a positive effect then he could easily upset more fancied rivals. Stall 3 is a great draw and should mean he gets an easy trip around.
Just 2 runners today,both finished 2nd Stakes £20 Returns £19.50 so a loss of £0.50.
