Total Football Trading The Paper Chaser – Days 28 to 30
9th December 2011
Hi Bloggers, Sgt Colin here.
So after a rather exceptional run, when it appeared that this was a sure fire winner, the last week hasn’t been so kind to us.
Tuesday saw plenty of Champions League games for us to chose from. 2 hit all the buttons for selection (Day 28)
Leverkusen @ Genk. Backed Leverkusen @ 1.51, but the odds then lengthened, and I closed out at 1.55 to make a 2.58 point loss.
Porto v Zenit. Again backed Porto at 1.73, and the odds played ball, allowing me to lay at 1.70. Another gain, but a small one, 1.77 points. 0.9 point loss on the day.
Wednesday had plenty of games too. I had some real difficulties picking matches as early odds were very volatile. I was fortunate to miss some howlers – but I selected 4 qualifying games. and I made a 3.22 point gain on the day.
Lyon @ Dinamo. The odds started at 2.04 and I layed – but they came in and I closed out at 1.98 for a 2.91 point loss. Somebody out there knew something – as Lyon won 7- 1!
Napoli @ Villareal. Napoli needed to win this to ensure they went through, so it was no surprise to be able to back at 1.99 and lay at shorter odds – 1.89 in the end. This made us a healthy gain of 5.03 points.
Man U @ Basel. Backed Man U at 1.73, and they shortened to 1.71 for a 1.11 point gain. We all know what happened though.
Lille v Trabsonspur. This started at short odds of 1.47 and resolutely refused to shorten after I’d backed them. Managed to close out at the same price – breakeven.
Thursday (Day 30)
Only 3 games with money around, and 1 seemed to qualify – Athletico Madrid @ Albacete. I got the timing all wrong here, as I anticipated the odds to lengthen from 1.54 (when I layed) and they shortened all the way to kick off. Closed out at the stop loss of 1.49, but made a big loss of 6.21 points.
Note to myself to adjust stop losses for low odds lays!
Today’s big match (Friday 9th) is Torquay v Barnet. Don’t think I’ll be trading this one…………..
