Great start to the week as our one tip today Dark Alliance made easy work of a tight handicap winning by 3l’s eased down. That was an apprentice race so he won’t get a penalty for next time out, so we will keep an eye out for where he goes next.

Nothing makes much appeal at Southwell tomorrow. I have certain horses I like to follow there when they are well handicapped and one is running tomorrow in the form of Showboating but he rarely shows his best form after a break so I am happy to let him run tomorrow. We will watch closely to see if there is any promise shown for next time although I would imagine 2-3 runs down the line will be the right time to get involved.

Two horses at Doncaster are interesting but not from a betting point of view. Mount Mews goes chasing for the first time which could be the making of the horse while Brian Ellison has Ravenhill Road running. He’s a horse I have been talking up for some time. Neither are worth backing at the prices but it will be good to watch both so I hope Doncaster’s card passes it’s inspection.
