Racing Profit Booster – Days 10 to 13
Sgt Colin reviews Racing Profit Booster
Hi, Sgt Colin here, with my latest review for BettingSystemtruths.com. I am reviewing the Racing Profit Booster system, an arbitrage horse racing software package from the extensive Steve Davidson stable. The software automatically compares the odds on UK and Irish racing from 16 high street bookmakers (those on Oddschecker) with the lay bet odds on Betfair. It flags up where, after Betfair commission, you can make a profitable trade – i.e. the odds at the bookmakers are higher than the odds available to lay on Betfair.
I have been placing real bets (not simply book trading) where I have accounts (the majority of the bookmakers). This enables me to assess the risks of account closure / restriction from using the software. We made a good start in the first 9 days, but had my account with Stan James closed. I’ve continued to monitor their opportunities though.
I’ve made a note of times, numbers of bets available, and profitability for each day that I have used the system. Note that I have NOT sat in front of the computer all day every day to achieve these results.
Day 10 – Saturday 16th Feb
2 bets between 1015 & 1018, a further 17 bets from 1110 to 1347. Stakes with 6 bookmakers (including StanJames paper traded) £123 – Liability with Betfair £900. Profit £7.52, Would have gained £77 from StanJames, £9 from Sportingbet.
Day 11 – Thursday 21st
Away from a computer for the next few days. Only 5 bets at infrequent times in the afternoon, with 3 bookmakers – all losing bets.
Bookmaker stakes £37.50, Betfair liability £210. Profit £2.08.
Day 12 – Friday 22nd
Just 2 short bursts of using the system today, 2 bets in 4 minutes in the morning, 4 bets in 7 minutes in the afternoon. £1.94 made from 6 bets, £32.5 staked with 4 bookies, £287 Betfair liability. Again the bookmakers won all bets.
Day 13 – Saturday 23rd
26 bets, monitoring throughout the day. Bookie stakes £158.5, Betfair liability £1,192. Profit £8.96. 3 winning bets as far as the bookies were concerned, we would have taken another £45 from StanJames, £11 made from Boylesports. The program threw up placeable bets with 10 different bookies.
In order to operate the system effectively, the first thing I do is log in to Betfair, and all of the bookmakers who have been highlighted by the program on previous days. This enables me to find highlighted bets quickly. I’ve realised that it is pointless trying to bet on arbs which are highlighted within 5 or even 10 minutes of the race starting, as the odds are constantly being monitored and updated during that period. You still have to have to accept that you will waste time making selections only for the odds to change and make the arb unviable.
I think it is only fair to highlight again how straightforward the program is to use. I’ve developed my own staking spreadsheet, as it I find this easier to use than the one within the program – but the arb highlighting facility seems to work very effectively.
So, over the 4 days we made £20.49 without risking any money – although we did stake £351.50. The average stake has been reduced to around £6.25 in order not to spook any more bookmakers!
Total profit has been £97 to date – Clearly in order for this to be cost effective as a stand alone system, you need to raise the stakes, but then you are in danger of having your bookies accounts closed. It seems to me that you ideally need to run this as part of a portfolio of betting tools, rather than the sole betting method.
Will see how we progress.
Colin
