Racing Profit Booster – Days 14 to 17
Sgt Colin reviews Racing Profit Booster
Hi, Sgt Colin here, with my latest review for BettingSystemtruths.com. I am reviewing the Racing Profit Booster system, an arbitrage horse racing software package from the extensive Steve Davidson stable. The software automatically compares the odds on UK and Irish racing from 16 high street bookmakers (those on Oddschecker) with the lay bet odds on Betfair. It flags up where, after Betfair commission, you can make a profitable trade – i.e. the odds at the bookmakers are higher than the odds available to lay on Betfair.
I have been placing real bets (not simply book trading) where I have accounts (the majority of the bookmakers). This enables me to assess the risks of account closure / restriction from using the software. We made a good start in the first 13 days, but had my account with Stan James closed. I’ve continued to monitor their opportunities though.
I’ve made a note of times, numbers of bets available, and profitability for each day that I have used the system. Note that I have NOT sat in front of the computer all day every day to achieve these results.
Day 14 – Wednesday 27th
My work patterns have changed recently, leaving fewer days available to me to monitor the results. However, when I eventually was able to use the system, it wasn’t working. Having queried this with the provider he identified it as a server problem, promising that the system would be back running on Thursday – which it was.
I was a little surprised that we didn’t receive an explanation as a matter of course – but that may be because the provider is in Australia and not able to monitor the system in real time.
Day 15 – Friday 1st March
12 minutes in the morning, 5 minutes in the afternoon – 5 bets, made £2.26 and took £70 off Totesport.
Bookmaker stakes £65, Betfair liability £223. Profit £2.26.
Day 16 – Saturday 2nd March
1001 to 1114 – made 7 bets, 5 of them being book trades with Stan James. 3 more bets in the afternoon in 12 minutes monitoring. £3.80 profit made. £82.50 staked with 4 bookies, £349 Betfair liability. Stan James would have lost out to us today.
Day 17 – Sunday 3rd
Only 2 meetings on today, but still made 5 bets in an hour between 940 & 1042. Only made £1.01 profit though from £35 staked (liability £214). BetVictor lost out today.
So, over these 4 days (3 trading) we only made £7.07 – but without risking any money or spending much time actively working (it’s taken nearly as long to monitor results and write the review!) – staking £182.50. The average stake has risen this week to £9 as there were more short priced arbs (where it is easier to place larger bets without alerting the bookmakers.
Total profit has been £104 to date. Clearly in order for this to be cost effective as a stand alone system, you need to raise the stakes, but then you are in danger of having your bookies accounts closed. It seems to me that you ideally need to run this as part of a portfolio of betting tools, rather than the sole betting method.
These reviews have sparked a number of comments – which all seem valid issues. In answer to one question – I’m still placing real bets with the bookies I have accounts with and monitoring the bookies I haven’t (including making selections on their websites as if I was placing a bet).
As I said earlier – my work hours have increased substantially, and I’m therefore going to have to miss out on monitoring the system next week.
Colin
