RebelBetting Day 4
21st May
Hi Bloggers,
Saturday was a furious day with arbs piling in! Most of them I had to ignore as I was engaged in keeping the admin straight and the bookie accounts up to date. But at times it was almost like just picking up money! I’d look at the available arbs, pick one at the best %age profit and place the bets for guaranteed profit.
Many, many arbs were on the same match – they have all been soccer events, so far. And as it was, I did arb the same match in different combinations of bets with different bookies – one match twice and one match 3 times. In total I did 11 arbs and would have made a total profit of 42.46 points profit on the day, including some pending bets from the previous day. This is what my balance should have looked like:
Type | Amount | % |
Total Deposits/Withdrawals | 2000.00 | 96.99% |
Total in Play | 99.86 | 4.84% |
Total Bonuses | 5.00 | 0.24% |
Total Arb Profit | 56.98 | 2.76% |
Total Bankroll | 2061.98 | 100.00% |
A profit of 56.98 points profit (14.24 points profit per day) is healthy enough for a beginner.
But I made a mistake on one of the Cross Market arbs and backed the away side when I should have backed the home side. Luckily for me the away side won so I made 116.02% instead of 3.4%! Of course it could have gone the wrong way, in which case I would have lost -100%!
It took a long time to work out why the bookmaker accounts didn’t match the predicted amounts on the spreadsheet – another reason to be careful when placing the bets and logging them onto the spreadsheet!
Mistakes are bound to be made, especially when learning. As this is a real life account of my progress, I’m including the mistake, just as I will include any negative mistakes. So these are the actual balances on my accounts:
Type | Amount | % |
Total Deposits/Withdrawals | 2000.00 | 91.98% |
Total in Play | 99.86 | 4.59% |
Total Bonuses | 5.00 | 0.23% |
Total Arb Profit | 169.30 | 7.79% |
Total Bankroll | 2174.30 | 100.00% |
So this includes an extra (mistake) profit of 112.32
I’m still working out how to extract the spreadsheet data to show as much info as possible. I hope to have that ready by tomorrow’s report and will show all the results since day 1.
On one arb, the prices disappeared after placing the first bet. The bookie site reported the “line” was not available. I just had to wait until the odds for that event reappeared and I was prepared to take a small loss in order to balance the bets as close as possible. As it was, the odds were increased, so the arb became a more profitable one!
Towards the end of Saturday evening some arbs started appearing for the tennis, but the betfair markets were not established and there were no significant funds available. However that does indicate that some arbs should come along as the French Open starts up on Monday.
Cheers,
Sgt Rich
