RebelBetting Days 1 2 &3
18th, 19th & 20th May
Hi Bloggers,
Ok, we’re up and running with the testing of this arbitrage software!
I’d paper-traded for a few days and got arbs ranging from 2.89 to 4.29 with the software behaving well. I also monitored how long the arbs were available for – all had been available for several minutes.
On the 18th I had my accounts set up and started trading for real. The software behaves perfectly and opens up the Bookie windows on the required bets. So far, I can’t fault it.
It’s very important to take notice of the warnings in the manual as regards what can go wrong. Doing the bets for real is a little daunting until you get used to it, so following their advice helps you through the unfamiliarity of it all.
On the first three days there were planty of arb notifications coming through and I was surprised how many times the odds were still available when the Bookie windows opened. I soon learned to fill in the betting slips, submit the bets and then check all sides of the arb before confirming the bets, especially making sure the odds had not changed.
The main problem was the funding in one account being used up quickly on a couple of bets. You can then de-select that bookmaker so arbs only come through for odds from the other bookmakers. Currently I have eight bookmaker and exchange accounts funded and with a reserve of funds unassigned. It soon became clear that a couple of Bookies were occurring in the majority of arbs, so I was restricted on the number of arbs. I have some tweaking to do with my funds.
It also soon became clear that some arbs coming through included Betfair markets where the event was some time off and the liquidity was not there to support the bet. So some caution is needed there.
On the 18th I started cautiously and got 2 arbs making 6.71 points profit
On the 19th I got 3 arbs making 3.38 points profit
On the 20th I stepped it up and got 9 arbs making 9.43 points profit. Three of them were left unsettled and pending as the events weren’t until one or two days later. There were also two arbs on a 0-0 where the bets were “voided”. That is the stakes were returned on the 0-0. The average profit on the 4 winning settled bets was 2.36 points.
Conclusion, so far, is that this is an entirely different form of betting. I’m used to trading where a time period is involved between one bet and the traded bet. During that period, there is always some uncertainty as to whether you can successfully trade out your position. With these arbs, the only uncertainty is the moment where you line up the bets and then confirm all bets as quickly as possible.
I am also pleasantly surprised as to how many valid arbs come through the software. In the past I found arb alerts to be infrequent and unavailable when you got through to the bookmaker sites. With RebelBetting there are so many arbs that I quickly stopped being anxious to chase them. Filling in the spreadsheet to track your results takes a few minutes after you’ve got the bets on, but if you didn’t do that you’d soon lose track of your bets, account balances and profits.
I have also been trying to record the age of the arbs and the time to the event as I thought that would be useful for BST readers, but I am going to have to drop that as it is too much admin to try to keep. Here’s the spreadsheet for your info, but I’ll be dropping recording them this way:

Here is a clip from the RebelBetting spreadsheet that shows the state of the 2000 point after the first three days
Type | Amount | % |
Total Deposits/Withdrawals | 2000.00 | 99.03% |
Total in Play | 399.22 | 19.77% |
Total Bonuses | 0.00 | 0.00% |
Total Arb Profit | 19.52 | 0.97% |
Total Bankroll | 2019.52 | 100.00% |
By Day 4’s report, I’ll work out how to extract the spreadsheet data to show as much info as possible.
