Four Zero Risk Trades this evening with one winning trade which returned a profit of 3.2 points.
As discussed yesterday, early placing of these trades can leave you open to risk because of the different policy for payment of the place bet between the Bookies and Betfair. The manual does cover this, the suggestion is that, in general, non runners are most likely declared more that 30 mins before the off so placing a trade at this point is safest. The large number of non runners in recent days has been an issue and I have chosen to adopt the following approach, at least for the time being. If a trade is generated by the program more than 30 mins before the off and it has high value I will structure this as a (less valuable) arb on the win market. Often I see high value trades which soon disappear as the bookies adjust their odds. If the trade is generated with less than 30 mins before the off I will place a ZRT trade. Of course, if a trade is available for a while then both trade type could be made.
I have made the decision to report both the arb and ZRT winnings together. This is fair. The arb was only possible because of the information generated by the program. For this reason I have created a new column ‘Trade type’ which takes the values ‘ZRT’ or ‘ARB’ depending on the trade type used. The ‘Betfair lay odds’ column for the ARB will contain the bet odds followed by the lay odds, so ’26/23′ means that I bet at ’26’ and layed at ’23’.
The ARB odds and profit information below is correct, I was using a variable stake and my arb calculations might not have been optimal.
